There has been significant news regarding Deer Valley Resort, primarily the announcement of Deer Valley Resort operating what used to be known as Mayflower Resort. You can read our blog about Mayflower Mountain real estate opportunities here. What may have been overshadowed are the food and beverage updates the resort is making for the 2023-2024 season! Fortunately, I got the scoop from the F&B team last week and am happy to report the updates.
The Seafood Buffet is back!
The clientele of Deer Valley had quite the response when they removed the Seafood Buffet as an option and replaced it with Cast & Cut at Snow Park Lodge. That said, Cast & Cut was successful last season, but the F&B team heard the calls from locals and visitors alike and will bring back the famous culinary experience.
From now on, though, they will emphasize sustainability, providing ethically sourced seafood and focusing on conservation. The price point will also be important as they want this experience to be around for a long time. Look for reservations to open in mid-October.
Lodge Dining Renovations
Deer Valley Resort is also renovating the spaces in their lodges. At Snow Park Lodge, look for a new, elevated coffee experience anchored by La Colombe. At Silver Lake Lodge, Royal Street Café is being renovated top to bottom. The ground floor will remain the family-friendly, warm restaurant experience, while upstairs Deer Valley is launching their first ever 21+ bar!
The upper level will be the epitome of classic après ski, with a design approach taking inspiration from the late 70s and early ’80s aesthetic and working with Warren Miller’s family to bring an authentic classic ski experience. In addition, many cosmetic updates are coming to Silver Lake Lodge to bring it up to speed.
Across the mountain, draft beer will be expanded, with many different options being available, from Snow Park to Empire Lodges. Cushing’s Cabin at the top of the Sterling Lift, will have a craft espresso and coffee program, giving skiers an elevated coffee experience at a high elevation!
Taste of Luxury
After last year’s success with their “Taste Of Luxury” experience, they will bring it back in February of 2024 and feature three Michelin-starred European chefs. Be on the lookout for reservations and the menu they will feature.
Creative Academy
Deer Valley also launched its “Creative Academy” in the Plaza building adjacent to Deer Valley Grocery Café. This program will start this month with Halloween-themed confection and cocktail classes and will continue to grow throughout the year. Look for different culinary and craft classes as they finish building out a full residential kitchen/classroom. The Creative Academy will be a great experience for locals and visitors alike!
