Looking for a place to store your stuff? Have an extra room but you don’t want to share your home with a tenant? Meet Neiybor: the Airbnb of Storage”.
I attended a 3-day real estate conference last week in Park City and one of the most interesting things I learned was not from a conference speaker, but from one of the sponsors, “Neiybor”. It’s one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” ideas. Neiybor is an online community that connects hosts with extra space with renters in need of storage. If you have an extra room, garage or even exterior storage, you can rent it to someone through Neiybor. If you are looking for a place to store your items for a lower price than a storage company, you can use Neiybor.
Neiybor gets paid by the renters. They charge a 15% premium above the rental price. When they sign up a person willing to rent storage space, they conduct an ID check and allow hosts and renters to meet before signing a contract. Neiybor handles the payments through PayPal, Venmo or check and accepts all major credit cards for payment of services.
Renters can insure their items through Neiybor’s insurance or their own private insurance. To learn more about Neiybor, check out neiybor.com.
I’m sharing this idea with my blog readers because I found it very interesting. I believe Neiybor is based in Salt Lake City and services Salt Lake and surrounding counties. This blog is not meant to be an endorsement of Neiybor or their services, but is purely for informational purposes.
What do you think of this idea? Can you see yourself using it? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

YES! I have a huge finished basement, but don’t want a renter…so, alas, it just sits there looking nice.
GREAT idea!
