About Pantone & the Color of the Year
Pantone is a color matching business with use cases in printing (ink) as well as paint, fabric, plastics and software. The Pantone Color Institute is a business unit within Pantone, which exists to forecast global color trends and advise companies on color choices.
There has been a Pantone Color of the Year since the year 2000. The institute claims to examine a variety of influencers in its choice, including but not limited to films, artists, fashion and popular travel destinations.
Sounds like a pretty fun job to me.
