I’ve been showing and selling a fair amount of property in the Heber Valley. And why not? It’s absolutely gorgeous and a little slower paced than Park City. The altitude is lower, which makes breathing easier for some. And there are plenty of activities to keep you busy and entertained. The Heber Valley is not the sleepy little town it used to be. There are some legitimately awesome dining options. Make a day of it and try these three great dining options in between activities at Deer Creek Reservoir, Soldier Hollow, The Homestead and more.
Breakfast: Fill’er Up Coffee Station
Fill’er Up Coffee Station is a fun Coffee House and Ice Cream Parlor located in an historic 1930’s Gas Station. The motif is ‘retro cool’ and the old fashioned good service enhances the decor. You can dine indoors or outside. The coffee is wonderful. There are many homemade baked items and the sandwiches looked delicious. They also serve quiche and breakfast burritos. I definitely need to make some more trips to Filler Up to check out all of their delicacies. (501 N. Main St. in Midway, Facebook Page)
Lunch: Back 40 Ranch House Grill
Super easy to get to from Park City or Midway, I love this restaurant. The views across the Heber Valley are spectacular and you can eat on the patio in the summer. The menu is casual, but gourmet! The beef is sourced from 2 pastures over and the organic, non-GMO cheese is from Heber Valley Dairy. Even the water comes from the restaurant’s own well. This restaurant is a true treasure! Dinner: Snake Creek Grill
We came here last year during the Sundance Film Festival when it was tough to get a reservation in Park City and I’m so glad we did! I just ate there again last week and was reminded about how great this restaurant is! Don’t let the “laid back, roadhouse environment” fool you. We dined on grass fed filet mignon, the most enormous rack of baby back ribs I have ever seen, and sampled some homemade deserts, including freshly made donuts! If you value well prepared, locally sourced food and friendly service, you must give this place a try. (600 W 100 S. www.snakecreekgrill.com)
These are just a few of my favorites. Which ones am I missing? If you haven’t driven over the hill to the Heber Valley in awhile, don’t wait. Fall is a beautiful time of year to visit.
